LG VX8700 Phone

The LG VX8700 indeed a very pretty cellphone that generally likeable. The brushed stainless VX8700 is just incredibly attractive that I remarked out loud that was helluva good looking phone. The LG VX8700 is clad in the brushed metal and polished mirror accents , giving one nice reflective shell. All the metals come at the cost of heavy handsets however, It is still easily one of the coolest looking phone among Verizon Wireless’s lineup.
Design
Although the brushed metal isn’t completely fingerprint-proof, It really does a better job of retaining it sheen compare to it cousin, VX8600. Under the mirrored stripe on the phone’s face hides a 65,000 colours LCD and the effect was created precisely , probably because LG didn’t skimp on quality on the external displays or the internal screen for that matter.
The keypad on the VX8700 is surprising flats although the button were plenty wide, you have to keep your eye on your fingers while text messaging. The flat 5-ways button was way to easy to miss and you probably will hit “CLR” instead of “left” more often although these kind of matters isn’t fatal at all.
The only complaint about the phone is that microSD slot located beneath the battery, so there will be no hot-swapping of memory card because of bothersome works.
Calling
Any calls made from the LG VX8700 sounded great, clean, no static or distortion. Even though the signal strength might be an issue as you probably will got less than 3 bars in certain area but the call quality seem unaffected at least.
About the battery, it can last almost four hours of talk time which is pretty good and satisfying.
Messaging
Knowing our problem with the flat kepad, the LG VX8700 actually handles the most popular messaging options quite well. As it come with pre-loaded setting for the messaging and email from MSN, AOL, and Yahoo and these work well although some of these apps tend to look more simplified compare to their desktop counterparts.
With a plenty of the text format options to fit 160 characters message on the screen make the text messaging even better and more viable. The best part is you have the ability to e-mail the pictures directly from the camera app without any hassle.
Camera
How should I start with this …Well, the pictures taken from the 2 Megapixel camera on the LG VX8700 were fuzzy and dull. The colours were accurate but the pictures have an overall haziness to make them undesirable for printing. The Photo Management Tool were basic and nothing too fancy to talk about it. Overall, the pictures look okay as phone wallpapers and that it.
GPS
It is surprising to know that GPS work well in this phone. Still, the VX8700 had a GPS sensors that quite sensitive, it totally have no problem to located you even inside your house, with only a light of view of the window. The phone might had a slightly bit of delay tracking through turns, but it updated quickly. The interface seem to be refreshed with the cleaner looking icons and a maps that have fewer jaggies.
Overall
LG VX8700 is just simply stunning, slim and easily to pocketed and it has a great call quality, good navigator tool , and good overalls response times . The only two cons are the inconvenient micro SD card locations and the flat keypad.. Other than these two, Everything seem work perfectly and cool.
